I have received a Cash account without asking for it, why? Answer

All customers receive a Cash account. The Cash account is used to transfer fixed interest rate products when they have expired and it is also used for the transfer of the annual charge. The Cash account is a non interest bearing account.

Why do I have to sign an agreement with Invest, is it not sufficient that I purchase shares in the fund? Answer

Most of our customers prefer to have a fixed return without the risk of unexpected fluctuations in price. This they receive with help from Invest.

Why do I have to fill in all details in the application and send a copy of my passport or driver's licence? Answer

The investment takes place in the Bahamas and is administered from there. Investments in the Bahamas offers a high level of confidentiality consequently authorities and financial institutions are very cautious to avoid money laundering. That is why all of our customers must send a complete application and a copy of their passport or driver's licence. If we do not receive all requisite information, we have no choice but to close the account and return the money to the customer.

Why do I have to pay an administrative charge of SEK 175? Answer

You pay an annual fee of SEK 175 in order to save with Akelius Invest, this is for administration purposes and supervision in the Bahamas. This fee is debited from your Cash account at the beginning of each calendar year. If this fee, when charged, means that your Cash account becomes overdrawn, you will not be charged any interest on this debt. This debt will be resolved when you make a new deposit or when a fixed-term product expires. Considering the annual fee, we recommend that you save more than SEK 10 000 with us.

How is my money paid out? Answer

Withdrawals are made to your bank account in any bank. Payments will not be made to anyone other than the account holder.

Do you send any information to the tax authorities? Answer

The tax regulations are different in different countries. Akelius Invest has clients in 60 countries. It is therefore the individual customers responsibility to provide details regarding their investments to the authorities concerned.

How do I make a withdrawal? Answer

The simplest way of making a withdrawal is to log onto our Internet service and click on "withdrawal". You can also send a written request by letter or by fax. Always specify the amount and to which account you want the money paid to.

What is the minimum amount I can deposit with Akelius? Answer

We recommend however that you save more than SEK 10.000, because of the annual charge (SEK 175).

How do I know that Akelius has received my payment? Answer

Log onto Akelius Internet service and choose "Account statement" in the main menu. You will then be able to see all transactions for each account. You will also receive confirmation of your deposit which will be sent to your home address.

Is Akelius Internet service safe? Answer

Akelius uses the encryption technology SSL (Secure Socket Layer) to protect all communication (user-ID, password and messages) between your Web browser and our Web server. You can easily see when communication is encrypted - a locked padlock in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen indicates that the website has an encrypted connection. Verisign SSL certificate with 128 bits encryption is used.
